Natural stone and ceramics
Unglazed ceramic tiles are more prone to developing a film. This film is often caused by unsuitable maintenance products. It's also possible that construction cleaning wasn't sufficient, or that normal daily use over the years is simply the cause. Like many other types of flooring, unglazed tiles require periodic attention. Cleaning will be necessary if stains can no longer be removed with regular maintenance. Faber Tile Cleaner is a product specifically designed for cleaning unglazed tiles. The tile will regain its original, smooth, matte appearance.
After cleaning, it's highly recommended to maintain the surface with Faber Floor Care. This product cleans effectively and doesn't build up layers. This prevents the rapid buildup of a new film. We've compiled a special cleaning and maintenance guide for cleaning and maintaining matte ceramic tiles. Would you like to receive it? Please let us know. We'll be happy to send it to you, free of charge.
Bluestone is a calcareous stone. If an acidic product (such as cleaning vinegar) comes into contact with calcareous natural stone, the stone will etch.
The stone is essentially broken. This can't be repaired with a product. However, bluestone can be easily repaired by polishing or sanding. You can do this yourself or have it done: www.renostone.nl(http://www.renostone.nl)
Limescale and water stains can sometimes be very stubborn. To prevent this as much as possible, it's advisable to dry the tiles after showering. To remove limescale and water stains from ceramic tiles, we recommend Faber Cement Vein Remover. This product (in a weak solution with water) is also very effective for periodic cleaning to prevent limescale and water stains. If you are dealing with natural stone, please contact us and (if possible) send a photo of the room and the stone.
Depending on the type of stain and how deeply it has penetrated the stone, Faber/30 Natural Stone Cleaner may offer a solution. Has the stain penetrated further into the stone? Then Faber Oil and Grease Stain Remover is highly recommended. This product can remove most types of stains that are beneath the surface of the stone.
If the grout darkens when you wet it with water, a color-enhancing impregnator can solve the problem. First, clean the grout with Faber30/Natural Stone Cleaner. Let it dry thoroughly, and then use a brush to color the grout with P147 color-enhancing impregnator.
Won't the grout darken if you wet it? Then coloring it with a special grout coating is an excellent and durable option. For more information, please visit https://www.renostone.nl/voegwerk-herstellen (https://www.renostone.nl/voegwerk-herstellen).
It's absolutely recommended to always perform a construction cleaning on a new tiled floor. Cement residue is inherent in grouting new tiles. In addition, there may be a factory-applied layer on the tile.
If the film, layer, or other contamination remains, the floor will adhere more quickly, with all the ensuing consequences. We often encounter this problem in practice, even after meticulous work was done to lay the floor. In this case, prevention is better than cure.

Natural stone always has a consistent color and texture throughout. A ceramic tile is gray on the underside and has a grid/print, which often includes the brand name. If it's a tile that's been laid and you can't check the underside, ceramic tiles usually have a pattern that's identical on every other tile. The pattern on a tile sometimes extends from one tile to the next, even if there's a grout line between them. This is almost never seen with natural stone. If you're unsure, take a photo of the tiles and send it to us.
A question we are asked very often.
Facade sealant is a bit of a pain to remove. Sealant removers are almost always only suitable for solvent-based sealants.
The facade impregnation contains silanes or similar raw materials. A product like "Special Solvent" (Solvent Stripper) will not recognize this composition.
To remove impregnation from a facade, it must first be softened. Faber/30 Natural Stone Cleaner is a suitable product for this purpose. Apply it to the facade in a strong ratio (1 part product to approximately 3 parts water), working from bottom to top. Let it soak for a few minutes, scrub, and rinse with clean water. Repeat if necessary.
It's possible that the impregnator has penetrated too far into the stone. At that point, even the Faber/30 can't reach the impregnator.
Note: Faber/30 is a safe product to work with. When using a high-strength mixture, it is highly recommended to wear chemical-resistant gloves (available at almost any hardware store).
